Welcome Back!

It seems like a different world since we last gathered. We had a brief couple of Sundays trying to sneak in a few services last year but Covid struck again. So here we are crossing our fingers and wanting this time to be foolproof  But we know better than that! Nonetheless we are psychologically moving to a different place. Yes, we are ready to join together and open our new QUUF year.

This Sunday, we will gather together and maybe we will recognize each other and maybe not. And we will greet new members. We will gather in good will, ready to rebuild a community in joy and hope. We join on 9/11 for a day of solidarity and friendship.

There are a few things going on this Sunday. First, we will enter the sanctuary where so many magical things have happened in the past.  Gather all those memories as you enter the building to greet your friends again.

Second, we are blessed with the Lummi Nation bringing their totem pole for blessing. The totem pole is on its way to the Clean Energy Justice Convergence. The Lummi goal is to “bring inspiration, media attention, and a call to action during the September 2022 Global Clean Energy Justice Convergence in Pittsburgh, PA.” What an honor for QUUF to be part of this journey. There will be a ceremony to honor this passage.

We will also have a genuine coffee/tea time with cookies. Yes, cookies. During this time, you can look at brochures about different QUUF groups, sign up for a Covenant Group, or sign up to volunteer for many of the service projects or groups that are at QUUF.  And ALPs will have some things to share too.

And, yes, our children will be back. Beau has great things planned for them this year. Get ready to sing “Go Now in Peace” to our wonderful children.

So, dear QUUF members, wear your happy clothes, get ready to enjoy good music (and did I mention cookies?). We will gather together and hold each other in community. Welcome Home!

  1. Thanks Kate, for that upbeat message. I am looking forward to seeing everybody; even just half their faces if need be. I wish I could be there tomorrow but it is not fair for those of you who could catch covid even if I were masked. I have missed the community more than I can say.

    1. Glad to hear you are recovering well, but was still sad this morning to learn of your bout with COVID. Many blessings and good wishes are being sent to both you and Lynn.

  2. so sorry to miss this opening service, but mom (Jenifer), dad (Lynn), and I will be back once they are completely covid-free again! (they are healing well.)
    love, Katy
