Legacies we’ve Lost

We light this chalice in thanksgiving for those who have passed their light to us.
These words from Rev. Peter Raible remind us that none of us walks alone. Our way through the dark is lit by many lights, near and far. This Sunday, we gather to grieve and to give thanks for the luminaries we’ve lost this year, among them Gloria Steinem and Dolly Parton. Their courage, humor, and heart helped pave the way for justice and change. Together we’ll tell their stories, sit with our sorrow, and take in what they left us. We’ll also turn toward the lights burning now: the newer voices who challenge the status quo, widen the circle, and light the way ahead for us.
