Bridging Service

As a religious community we celebrate rites of passage. This Sunday we honor our older youth as they pass form youth-hood to young adulthood, or “bridge.” This year we celebrate three young people, Cece Magee, Cosmo Crecca, and Joey McGovern in our Bridging Service. They will share with the congregation on this point in their lives as we honor their transition to adult UUs.

Calling Down the Rain

Being human is a messy business. We make assumptions and cause harm or misunderstand each other and get our feelings hurt. Fortunately, the Buddhists have figured out ways to intercept all that suffering before it even begins. Let’s practice their techniques and bring a soft peaceful rain to extinguish our burning divisions.

Covenant of Reciprocity

We are all bound by a covenant of reciprocity: plant breath for animal breath, winter and summer, predator and prey, grass and fire, night and day, living and dying. Today we will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. The service will include our annual Eco Hero Award.
