What a wonderful spring it has been over in RE- the energy feels bountiful and we’ve been having lots of fun!
We just wrapped our Mystery Pal program at the end of March that brings people together across the generations, and we had over 130 people come out for our epic Easter egg hunt at Chetzemoka park this past Sunday!
Building support and connection for our children, youth, and families is my greatest desire here at QUUF. I’ve been working with our families for coming up on a decade and watching shy preschoolers become confident high schoolers with a full sense of ownership of our community is one of my favorite aspects. We have a number of exciting things coming up over the next few weeks that support our families and community.
Child Dedication
This Sunday we have the joy of welcoming eleven children in our dedication ceremony, and this is one of the ways that we crack into the opportunity for the fellowship to commit to participating with parents in the caring of their children. We don’t do this alone! Our child dedication also serves as a way to celebrate our children and offer our blessings and promise that we are a part of their community.
We will have a reception afterwards and I encourage folks to intentionally get to know our families and children- building a stronger social network is a part of being a thriving fellowship for people of all ages!
Parent Led Service
A few months ago some parents gathered and observed that most of the people speaking from the pulpit don’t have young children in our congregation, so asked if they could make their own service. Of course- what a joyful yes this is! On May 4th we have a dozen parents gathering with music, stories, poetry and more to talk about the parenting experience. Please make sure to attend this Sunday to hear from our current families with children and youth!
Quimper Camp
If you are wondering “wow, I love all of the children and families here at QUUF, but how can I get to know them in a way that isn’t awkward?” goodness Quimper Camp is for you! We gathering each May over memorial day weekend with people of all ages to camp together, eat together, and have fun and build community. Even if you can’t come for the whole weekend, come down for a day! This is a fabulous way to get to know our community and deepen relationships. The deadline to sign up is May 4th! https://bit.ly/quimpercamp25
Thank you for being a part of making this a wonderful, intergenerational community.
See you soon!

Thank you for the update. Wow – 11 kids being dedicated. That’s wonderful. And thank you for being so inclusive with Quimper Camp – the People’s Retreat. Julia
