Our Tradition of Giving and Receiving
When it comes to our choices around living our faith, we are asked to be more transformational. We can transform ourselves by deepening knowledge of UU history and beliefs, and by then by acting on those beliefs.
Most of our lives are transactional in the everyday things we do — by earning money and paying for things we want or need. But what if you could change even a little part of your daily transactions to transformations? What would that look like?
We can be transformational with our time by being in service. Being of service means approaching your volunteer time in a sacred way…just serving for the love of doing good and to improve the world one action or one person at a time. This kind of service is transformational to both the giver and receiver.
We can be transformational with our talents, and we ALL have talents. Writing letters, making phone calls, preparing meals, cleaning, helping with coffee hour, leading classes, working with our children and youth…these are all community building, but your actions are talents that can transform this group.
We can be transformational with our treasure/money. We can ALL contribute something through a pledge because giving something, no matter how small, is a sacred show of support. We invite you to join us in working towards a transformational QUUF, so we can grow and transform our congregation, our community, and ourselves.
When we transform ourselves, we cannot help but transform those we meet. Together we grow and change the world with us.

Auction Update: Our November auction brought not only good food, fun and beautiful table themes, but joy and camaraderie. The list is long of the many hands, participants, and those holding eagerly raised paddles who contributed to its success. Our net total from the event, including ticket sales, bidding, and raffle items was $63,642.34. Deep gratitude to all the organizers and helpers!
Board Resignation/Appointment: It is with regret that we announce the Board resignation of Julia Cochrane from the Board of Directors. She boldly stepped into the job of treasurer when filling that position was uncertain and challenged the Board to excel in its focus on QUUF youth and families. We extend our thanks to Julia for serving and wish her success in the many other ways she gives to our community.
The Board gratefully approved the recommendation to appoint Jane Hogue to the Board as our new treasurer. We are delighted that she has joined our Board.
Focus on “In the Interim”: Aside from our work to finalize our 2025-2026 Board Goals, we have enjoyed lively discussions with Rev. Don Rollins on the book “In the Interim.” Notes from these facilitated discussions are being distributed to Board committees and the Program Council for consideration and distribution to those interested in learning more about interim ministry.
In faith,
Your QUUF Board
