This is a reposting of the Monday Board Report that went out on July 27, 2026, as there were some key details that didn’t make it in when copied over.

Happy Summer to our beloved UU Fellowship!
At our June 14 Annual Meeting, we joined hearts and minds for staff presentations, volunteer recognition, Board reports, and a key vote to approve our 2026-2027 budget. A humorous report was also presented by the Governance Review Task Force with their observations and recommendations to bring efficiencies to our leadership structure as we begin to embark on our next minister search.
Our last Monday Board Report conveyed extensive information about the different categories of professional ministry as delineated by the UUA. Developmental, interim and contract ministers are hired, not called by the congregation, for a specified time period. QUUF currently has an employment agreement with the Rev. Don Rollins who is serving as our interim minister, a category that is generally limited to a 2-year term.
Rev. Don continues the work that began with our developmental minister, the Rev. Linda Hart, taking on additional responsibilities that have supported our mission and priorities within and outside the QUUF community. His tenure was set to end at the end of 2026, but as announced at the Annual Meeting, he has agreed to extend his contract until June 30, 2027. We are thrilled by his commitment and anticipate the need for a new interim or contract minister after Rev. Don’s retirement in 2027.
The process of calling a minister is well-defined and generally requires 18-24 months lead time. The work that has been done and continues with Rev. Don strengthens QUUF’s ability to attract and retain a settled minister. Much thought and analysis go into deciding when the search should be initiated. Many hands are needed in this process, and the congregation’s input will be welcome.
