I give to QUUF because it is a place where my whole self is welcomed – my questions, my doubts, my hopes, and my convictions. At its best, our congregation embodies the living faith of Unitarian Universalism, a tradition rooted in freedom of belief, compassion in action, and a deep respect for the inherent worth and dignity of every person.
In a world that is so divided and often very frightening, QUUF is a community grounded in covenant. We promise not to believe the same things, but to journey together with compassion, curiosity, reverence, and respect. Our “just and joyful” community does not happen by accident. It takes intention, shared commitment, and resources. My financial giving is one way I help sustain this sacred space.
I give because our church shows up – not just for our members, but for our local community and the wider world. We stand for justice, equity, and inclusion. We support people through life’s milestones: child dedications, coming-of-age ceremonies, weddings, memorial services, and moments of crisis. We create programs that nurture children and offer adults opportunities for lifelong learning and spiritual growth. We open our doors for dialogue, service, and solidarity.
I give because QUUF has given to me. I have found precious community here at QUUF. As a relatively new member, I have felt welcomed and have made meaningful connections with several other members, for which I am so grateful! I have heard thoughtful sermons that challenge and inspire me. Here, I can wrestle with life’s biggest questions without fear of judgment. In giving financially, I am expressing my gratitude for the ways this community has enriched my life.
I also give because I believe in shared responsibility. QUUF is a living community sustained by its members and friends. Our building, staff, programs, and outreach efforts exist because people choose to invest in them. When I make a pledge or a contribution, I am saying: this matters. This community matters. The work we do together matters.
Finally, I give because generosity is itself a spiritual practice. It reminds me that I am part of something larger than myself. It aligns my values with my actions. It transforms belief into commitment.
My gift is not just about dollars. It is about belonging. It is about hope. It is about helping to create our future!
