Midwifing Change, Part Two

This sermon, a follow-up on Dr. Bower’s sermon from May 22, 2016 titled “Midwifing Change,” explores how the “heroic” approach to social activism is at odds with progressive values. How can we step out of that mindset and “walk our talk” in a way that reflects what we really stand for?

About Dr. Jody Bower: Cultural mythologist Jody Gentian Bower holds a PhD in Mythological Studies with a Depth Psychology Emphasis from Pacifica Graduate Institute, and a Master in Social Work from the University of Washington. At heart she is a pragmatist concerned with “what actually works?” She is the author of Jane Eyre’s Sisters: How Women Live and Write the Heroine’s Story, which explores the journey that real and fictional women – and some men – take in the quest to live full and authentic lives.
