RENTAL RULES AND GUIDELINES
We ask those wishing to use our church facilities to be sensitive to the fact that they are used as a place of gathering, worship and caring by our church family.
- DEPOSITS: Building use fee, sound systems, and damage/ time overrun deposit must be paid in full at the time the rental agreement is signed for groups without a QUUF member sponsor.
Users should expect to find the church facilities clean upon arrival. The deposit will be refunded if the facilities are left as found, and there is no time overrun. Q.U.U.F. reserves the right to retain part of, or all of the deposit if this is not the case. A church closing checklist will be issued, and should be followed at the end of the event.
- The user agrees that if political, issue-orientated or fundraising advertising is placed for the event in the public media, the name of the church will be withheld.
- All advertisements and flyers using the name of the church must be approved by the Office Administrator prior to distribution.
- A full refund will be given if a cancellation is made 60 or more days prior to the scheduled day of the event.
One half of the fees will be refunded if the cancellation occurs 30 or more days prior to the event.
Please note no refunds will be given if the cancellation notice is received less than 30 days prior to the scheduled day of the event.
- Q.U.U.F. is not liable for any loss or damage to the property of renters or guests.
- No smoking is permitted in church buildings or on church property.
- No greenery or flowers may be placed on the podium or piano and piano bench. Greenery and flowers may be placed on windowsills, provided adequate protection against water stains is used.
- Candles must be dripless and supported by nonflammable candleholders.
- Authorized individuals only may use the sound system. Musicians only may play the piano. If rental parties want the piano tuned, it is their financial responsibility. They must get permission from the person in charge of rentals, then use the tuner normally used by the church.
- Out of respect for our neighbors, music may be played at a reasonable volume up to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and up to 11:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
- Except for those cleaning up after the event, buildings must be vacated by 10 p.m. Sun.-Thurs., and midnight-- Friday and Saturday.
- Nothing may be affixed to, or removed from, the walls or doors without the permission of the person in charge of rentals. If approved, masking tape is permitted for hanging decorations.
- Q.U.U.F. has no rules prohibiting the use of alcohol on the premises, but it is expected that good taste and moderation will prevail. A non-alcoholic beverage must be provided when alcohol is served. The regulations of the Washington State Liquor Control Board must be followed.
- Kitchen facilities are available. Dishes, silverware, and pans belonging to Q.U.U.F. are not available for use. Coffee and tea makers, and cups may be used with permission.
- Renters should bring all their own supplies, and clean and put away any appliances or dishes used. All food and utensils brought into the facilities must be removed the same day.
Please place garbage and recycling into proper containers. ( note Church Closing Checklist, and Kitchen Do's and Don'ts form.) Garbage in excess of one bag will be charged for at $7 a bag.
- Parking: If the event draws more cars than fit into our parking lot, "no parking" signs will need to be put out on the road easement directly across from the church on 24th St. (and brought back in afterwards). It is asked that parking along the church block on both sides of 24th be avoided altogether, and that 22nd Street be used, or Swan School parking area, one block West.
