Purpose: To provide compassionate and respectful support for members in times of crisis or need. To inform the congregation of those members needing short term support, with prior approval from persons receiving our care and concern.Membership: The committee shall consist of a chairperson appointed in a manner consistent with Bylaws Articles VII, Section 1(a) and Article VIII, Section 1(b).
Responsibilities:
- Arrange for temporary assistance from the congregation to support those in unexpected and challenging life situations within the congregation.
- Find appropriate means of expressing congregational concern during life crises of members.
- Communicate with the congregation, when appropriate, about who is in need of help, and how individuals may offer such help.
- Work with the Volunteer Coordinating Committee to find members willing to drive, prepare meals, provide respite care, do yard work, etc.
