Purpose: Generally, the purpose of this committee it to raise awareness of the congregation's membership to the importance, and gift, of diversity. Specifically, the purpose is to create a welcoming climate for the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender communities at QUUF.
Membership: The committee shall consist of a chairperson appointed in a manner consistent with Bylaws Articles VII, Section 1(a) and Article VIII, Section 1(b).
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement worship services.
- Bring in special speakers or programs.
- Put on the Welcoming Congregation workshop series open to the entire congregation.
- Build bridges between the fellowship and gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender communities.
- Come up with new ideas to advance the committee's purpose and implement them.
- Find new funding sources for programs, training, books, videos and other resources that would enhance the committee's efforts to make QUUF more diverse and welcoming.
