Purpose: To identify congregational needs/wishes, strengths and weaknesses, develop a planning process for the congregation, complete a long-range plan with reasonable goals and strategies, including a time-line for a 1 to 5 year period, and to help the congregation discern its vision for the future.Membership: The committee shall consist of a chairperson appointed in a manner consistent with Bylaws Articles VII, Section 1(a) and Article VIII, Section 1(b).
Responsibilities:
- Keep the congregation involved, communicating in all various ways--written, verbal, etc., including the submission of progress reports in winter and spring.
- Work with the congregation to write a Vision Statement.
- Collect, and review already collected congregational input and feedback, including interviews, congregational meetings, etc. as needed in the preparation of a Long-Range Plan.
- Complete a Long-Range Plan with goals and objectives for worship/ministry, RE, community within, and social justice/outreach by June 2006.
- Identify the space needs and priorities of the congregation.
- Organize information regarding space and priorities for use by the Building Options and/or Capital Campaign Committee.
- Facilitate meetings, congregational or otherwise, in conjunction with Mediators Paul Becker and Linda Little, as needed.
- In conjunction with the other two committees create an estimated timeline for facilities expansion and capital campaign that includes key steps leading to occupancy of a new space.
