Kitchen Care Committee
Purpose: To promote enjoyment of all events involving kitchen use. To promote a clean, uncluttered, healthy and eco-friendly environment for food and drink preparation.Membership: The committee shall consist of a chairperson appointed in a manner consistent with Bylaws Articles VII, Section 1(a) and Article VIII, Section 1(b).
Responsibilities:
- Build a volunteer team for kitchen responsibilities.
- Develop and implement systems for leaving the kitchen in perfect condition after each use.
- Clean and clear the refrigerator, stove and shelves on a regular schedule and take stock of all kitchen materials.
- Understand the operation of appliances and provide written instructions for their use.
- Coordinate supply purchases with Office Administrator and discourage unsolicited donations.
- Cooperate with Building and Grounds Committee in collection of recycling materials, trash and garbage; with the Green Sanctuary Committee in composting, and with the custodian in kitchen care.
- Encourage all users to follow the Green Kitchen Guidelines.
- Provide volunteer launderers for linens.
- Schedule Sunday Beverage Service (Coffee Hour).
- Periodically inform members of items left in the kitchen and deliver unclaimed items to the Free Store.
