Directions

From the East:

 Downtown Seattle: Take the ferry from the downtown dock to Bainbridge Island. Follow Route 305 to the junction with Route 3 north. Follow Route 3 north across the Hood Canal Bridge (Route 104). Turn right onto Route 19 (Beaver Valley Road), about 4 miles after crossing the bridge. Follow Route 19 into Port Townsend. Ferries leave Seattle approximately every 50 minutes.

North of Seattle: Take the ferry from the Edmonds dock to Kingston. Stay on Route 104 (there are some turns), following the signs across the Hood Canal Bridge. Turn right onto Route 19 (Beaver Valley Road), about 4 miles after crossing the bridge. Follow route 19 into Port Townsend. Ferries leave Edmonds approximately every 40 minutes.

From the South:

 Exit I-5 north in Olympia onto 101 north. Stay on 101 for about 100 miles to Discovery Bay, where you will turn right onto Route 20 north. Follow Route 20 into Port Townsend. This is the slow but scenic route!

From Tacoma: Exit off I-5 to Route 16, across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. Follow Route 16 north to Route 3 north at Gorst (Bremerton). Take Route 3 to the Hood Canal Bridge (Route 104). Turn right onto Route 19 (Beaver Valley Road), about 4 miles after crossing the bridge. Follow Route 19 into Port Townsend.

From the North:

Take I-5 south to the junction with Route 20 (near Burlington). Take Route 20 west across Deception Pass onto Whidbey Island. Stay on Route 20 as it turns west to Keystone. Ferry from Keystone to Port Townsend. Ferries leave Keystone approximately every 45 minutes in the summer.
